A rainbow Introduction Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have.  A cloudy evening The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Follow Me, The Master Said; it was written by William Stevenson* in 1880, and is now published in 58 hymnals. It isn't a super popular hymn, which is unfortunate, as it is BEAUTIFUL. *(Some people aren't sure who wrote it; take my words with a grain of salt.) A pretty lake The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Savior, Like A Shepherd Lead Us, written by Dorothy A. Thrupp in 1836; it's tune was composed by William B. Bradbury in 1859. It is a very pretty hymn, and references to how Jesus said that He was the Good Shepherd. You can read about that in John 20:1-18. Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, I Will Praise Him, by Margaret J. Harris; it was copyrighted in 1898, and Miss Harris edited it in 1910. Grass and trees Introduction Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have. A fox The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the hymn, 'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus; it was written in 1882 by Louisa M. R. Stead, and it talks about the beauty and serenity of resting in the love of Jesus, and how we can find joy when He is leading us. Mrs. Stead wrote 'Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus while she was grieving the death of her husband, who had died in a drowning accident.  Another beautiful hymn, Day By Day, was written by somebody grieving a similar loss; Lina Sandell wrote Day By Day after seeing her father drown.  And Horatio G. Spafford wrote the hymn It Is Well With My Soul after his son died his business burned to the ground, and his four daughters drowned when two ships collided. All of these people trusted in Jesus to help them overcome grief. Yes, &#

The fire at the Pentagon The Subject At Hand Today is September 11th, 2024, 23 years after the World Trade Center was attacked by Islamic terrorists; I just want to talk about what happened, and help you understand what occurred. On September 11th, 2001, the Islamic terrorists, al-Qaeda, hijacked four commercial planes and used them as massive weapons in order to hurt our country. At 8:46 in the morning, 5 al-Qaeda members crashed a plane into the 93 through 99th floors of the North Tower, killing 11 crew members, 76 passengers, and hundreds of people in the building. Hundreds more were trapped above the 91st floor, as the crash broke off access to the emergency stairwell. At 8:50, the current president, George W. A bad picture of the moon The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Lo, He Comes With Clouds Descending, by John Cennick, 1752, Charles Wesley in 1758, and Martin Madan in 1760. Now, folks, I'll give you a fair warning: it is long. A lot longer than what people normally sing. Which you can depend on if Wesley had any part in writing it; he loved to write and write and WRITE.   Trees on a dark night Introduction Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have. A flower bush The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, He Hideth My Soul, by Frances J. Crosby in 1890; it is super pretty, and it gives a beautiful message.  I think that this is the first hymn by Miss Crosby that I've done, so that's kind of neat.
