It's kind of like Just As I Am by Charlotte Elliott; it has the line "Just as I am" and it ends on the line "I come." Hmm, somebody must have been a fan of the other; Charlotte Elliott wrote hers in 1835.  I don't know. Maybe they're completely unrelated. Maybe. I just don't know. I have something down below, which I found while getting ready to write this blog post; I did not write a word of what you will be reading. The credit goes to Timeless Truths Online Library. Lilac bushes The Subject At Hand see Today we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, The Battle Hymn Of The Republic by Julia W. Howe in 1861. It has deep theological meaning, and it is powerful; I love it.  Most great hymn writers are men, so it is nice to see a woman who is doing a good job; mind you, I'm not saying that women are terrible songwriters, but the most common names are men.
