Lyrics to Taylor Swift's song, Clara Bow
Introduction
Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, were I write the lyrics to a lot of songs; normally, I do hymns, but today, we are looking at the lyrics to Taylor Swift's newest song, Clara Bow.
It was released in the very long ago year, 2024.
It is in Taylor's Tortured Poets department album, so go there to find the tune.
I want to make it very clear that I OWN NOTHING; the credit goes to Tay-Tay.
Now, on with the show!
The Lyrics
You look like
Clara Bow
In this light.
Remarkable.
All your life,
Did you know
That you'd be picked
Like a rose?
I'm not trying to exaggerate,
But I think it might die if it happened,
Die if it happened to me.
No one in my small town
Thought that I would see the lights of Manhattan.
This town is fake,
But you're the real thing;
Breath of fresh air
Through smoke rings.
Take the glory,
Give everything,
Promise to be dazzling.
You look like DC
Stevie Nicks
In '75.
The hair and lips,
Crowd goes wild at her fingertips,
Half moonshine a full eclipse.
I'm not trying to exaggerate,
But I think I might die if I made it,
Die if I made it.
No one in my small town
Thought that I'd meet these suits in LA,
They all wanna say.
This town is fake,
But you're the real thing;
Breath of fresh air
Through smoke rings.
Take the glory,
Give everything,
Promise to be dazzling;
The crown is stained,
But you're the real queen,
Flesh and blood amongst war machines.
You're the new god we're worshipping,*
Promise to be dazzling.
Beauty is a beast that roars down on all fours,
Demanding more.
Only when your girlish glow
Flickers just so
Do they let you know.
It's hell on earth to be heavenly,
Them's the breaks,
They don't come gently.
You look like
Taylor Swift
In this light,
We're lovin' it.
You've got edge she never did,
The futures bright,
Dazzling.
Afterwards
It is a very...
Interesting song.
I wouldn't say that it's my favorite, and I do not approve of one of the lines, but it is one of her better songs.
Clara Bow was a successful actress in the 1920s, and she starred in Wings, The Plastic Age, and Dancing Mothers.
I don't have anything else to say on the subject, so I am going to wrap things up.
If I left something out, or you just want me to write the lyrics to a particular song, let me know in the comments.
I upload on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Random Chatty Days.
See you then.
Goodbye, and God bless.

*Mother of Gooses disapproves of this line; there is only one God, and even to use it as a figure of speech is blasphemous, in my opinion.
