Lyrics to the hymn, All The Way My Savior Leads Me

A snowy hill

Introduction

Hello. I am a Mother of Gooses and a lover of hymns; I consider them to be a work of art. And they bring glory to God, our Creator and Redeemer, and Friend.

The Subject At Hand

Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, All The Way My Savior Leads Me; it was written by Frances J. Crosby, and was published in 1875.

Fanny Crosby wrote many hymns, and doing so when she was blind; she wrote this particular song after receiving an answer to a prayer.

One day, she needed five dollars; she didn't know how she was going to get it, so she decided to pray.

Soon after she asked God for help, a man came to her door and placed in her hand the exact amount of money that she needed.

Later, she said that the only reason that happened was that God chose to answer her prayer with a yes; so she wrote All The Way My Savior Leads Me.

Here's some scripture associated with this hymn:

Psalm 23:3

"He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake."

Revalation 7:17

"For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes."

The Lyrics

Verse 1

All the way my Savior leads me,

What have I to ask beside?

Can I doubt His tender mercy,

Who through life has been my Guide?

Heav'nly peace, divinest comfort,

Here by faith in Him to dwell!

For I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well;

For I know, whate'er befall me,

Jesus doeth all things well.

Verse 2

All the way my Savior leads me,

Cheers each winding path I tread,

Gives me grace for every trial,

Feeds me with the living Bread.

Though my weary steps may falter

And my soul athirst may be,

Gushing from the Rock before me,

Lo! A spring of joy I see;

Gushing from the Rock before me,

Lo! A spring of joy I see.

Verse 3

All the way my Savior leads me,

Oh, the fullness of His love!

Perfect rest to me is promised

In my Father's house above.

When my spirit, clothed immortal,

Wings its flight to realms of day

This my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way;

This my song through endless ages:

Jesus led me all the way.

A field and some trees

Afterwards

Jesus led me all the way.

Amen.

God always leads us. In shady, green pastures, so rich and so sweet, God leads His dear children along. Even death's cold wave I will not flee, since God through Jordan leadeth me.

A pretty winter day
