Lyrics to the hymn, Near To The Heart Of God

What a pretty house

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have.

A blue sky

The Subject At Hand

Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Near To The Heart Of God, by Cleland B. McAfee in 1903.

It is super pretty, and I recommend listening to it; if you don't know how the tune goes, go to YouTube and look up Kaleb Brasee, or follow the links I'll leave down below.

Now, on with the show!

The Lyrics

Verse 1

There is a place of quiet rest,

Near to the heart of God;

A place where sin cannot molest,

Near to the heart of God.

Refrain

O Jesus, blest Savior,

Sent from the heart of God;

Hold us, who wait before Thee,

Near to the heart of God.

Verse 2

There is a place of comfort sweet,

Near to the heart of God;

A place where we our Savior meet,

Near to the heart of God.

Refrain

O Jesus, blest Savior,

Sent from the heart of God;

Hold us, who wait before Thee,

Near to the heart of God.

Verse 3

There is a place of full release,

Near to the heart of God;

A place where all is joy and peace,

Near to the heart of God.

Refrain

O Jesus, blest Savior,

Sent from the heart of God;

Hold us, who wait before Thee,

Near to the heart of God.

A tree

Afterwards

"There is a place of comfort sweet, near to the heart of God; a place where we our Savior meet, near to the heart of God."

That is a nice verse; that place where you are near to the heart of God is probably where the sweet hour of prayer comes; do you see any connections?

I would love to find that little place of comfort sweet; maybe it would be a secret room that's been hidden for centuries. Or, more likely, when I'm walking my dog, or cleaning the house. Unfortunately, even comfort places aren't perfect.😢

But, God can make anything perfect.

A pretty morning
