Dashboard, sky, and mountains

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have.

The Subject At Hand

Today, we are looking at the hymn by Christian H. Bateman, Come, Christians, Join To Sing.

It was written in 1843, and is now published in 125 hymnals.

If you don't know the tune, go to YouTube and look up Kaleb Brasee; he plays the piano, and  does a good job. Or follow the links I'll leave down below.

Now, on with the show!

  The Lyrics

Verse 1

Come, Christians, join to sing

Alleluia, Amen!

Loud praise to Christ our King,

Alleluia, Amen!

Let all, with heart and voice,

Before His throne rejoice;

Praise is His gracious choice,

Alleluia, Amen!

Verse 2

Come, lift your hearts on high,

Alleluia, Amen!

Let praises fill the sky,

Alleluia, Amen!

He is our God and Friend,

To us He'll condescend;

His love shall never end,

Alleluia, Amen!

Verse 3

Praise yet our Christ again,

Alleluia, Amen!

Life shall not end the strain,

Alleluia, Amen!

On Heaven's blissful shore

His goodness we'll adore,

Singing forevermore,

"Alleluia, Amen!"
