Lyrics to the hymn, Redeemed, How I Love To Proclaim It

Some trees and a mountain

            Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals.

Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Redeemed, How I Love To Proclaim It, written by Fanny Crosby in 1882.

It is a very nice song, and if you don't know how the tune goes, go look up Folksandhymns on YouTube.

Now, on with the show!

The Lyrics

Verse 1

Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed through His infinite mercy,

His child and forever I am.

Chorus

Redeemed, redeemed,

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed, redeemed,

His child and forever I am.

Verse 2

Redeemed, and so happy in Jesus,

No language my rapture can tell;

I know that the light of His presence

With me doth continually dwell.

Chorus

Redeemed, redeemed,

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed, redeemed,

His child and forever I am.

Verse 3

I think of my blessed Redeemer,

I think of Him all the day long:

I sing, for I cannot be silent;

His love is the theme of my song.

With me doth continually dwell.

Chorus

Redeemed, redeemed,

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed, redeemed,

His child and forever I am.

Verse 4

I know I shall see in His beauty

The King in who's law I delight;

Who lovingly guardeth my footsteps,

And giveth me songs in the night.

Chorus

Redeemed, redeemed,

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed, redeemed,

His child and forever I am.

Verse 5

I know there's a crown that is waiting

In yonder bright mansions for me,

And soon, with the spirits made perfect,

At home with Lord I shall be.

Chorus

Redeemed, redeemed,

Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;

Redeemed, redeemed,

His child and forever I am.
