Lyrics to the hymn, Fairest Lord Jesus

Majestic Mountains

       Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals.

Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Fairest Lord Jesus by Joseph Seiss in 1662, and it is now published in 564 hymnals.

Around that timeframe; it is kind of murky.

If you don't know how the tune goes, go to YouTube and look up Kaleb Brasee; if you haven't heard me talk about him, he plays the piano, and does a great job.

Now, on with the show!

A dashboard, sky, trees, and mountains

The Lyrics
Verse 1

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature,

O Thou of God and man the Son,

Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,

Thou, my soul's glory, joy and crown.

Verse 2

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,

Robed in the blooming garb of spring;

Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,

Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Verse 3

Fair is the sunshine, fairer still the moonlight,

And all the twinkling starry hosts;

Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer

Then all the angels of Heav'n can boast.

Verse 4

All fairest beauty, heavenly and earthly,

Wondrously, Jesus, is found in Thee;

None can be nearer, fairer or dearer,

Than Thou, my Savior, art to me.

Verse 5

Beautiful Savior!  Lord of all the nations!

Son of God and Son of man!

Glory and honor, praise, adoration,

Now and forever more be Thine.

Sun during the solar eclipse

        Afterwards

It is a nice song; not among my top favorites, but it is a very nice song.

Hey, I have a challenge for you: on a nice day, go outside and enjoy the beauty of the Earth.

Goodness, that sounds so hard.

I hope that today's post was helpful; let me know down in the comments what you thought of it.

I send out new content every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and the occasional Random Chatty Day; go to past posts to read more.

Goodbye, and God bless.
