Lyrics to the hymn, Crown Him With Many Crowns

The road and trees

     Introduction

Hello, and welcome the Mother of Gooses blog; I hope that your stay is satisfactory.

Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Crown Him With Many Crowns; it was written in 1851 by Matthew Bridges and Godfrey Thring.

It is now published in 786 hymnals, which is less than some hymns, more than others.

It is a praise song, and it is the favorite hymn of somebody that I love dearly.

If you don't know how the tune goes, look up Kaleb Brasee on YouTube; he plays it on the piano, and he does a good job, as usual.

See you in the afterwards.

Wow, that was lame.

The Lyrics

Verse 1

Crown Him with many crowns,

The Lamb upon His throne;

Hark! How the heav'nly anthem drowns

All music but its own!

Awake, my soul, and sing

Of Him who died for thee,

And hail Him as thy matchless King

Through all eternity.

Verse 2

Crown Him the Lord of love!

Behold His hands and side;

Rich wounds, yet visible above,

In beauty glorified!

No angel in the sky

Can fully bear that sight,

But downward bends his wond'ring eye

At mysteries so bright.

Verse 3

Crown Him the Lord of life!

Who triumphed o'er the grave,

Who rose victorious in the strife

For those He came to save.

His glory now we sing,

Who died, and rose on high,

Who died eternal life to bring,

And lives that death may die!

Verse 4

Crown Him the Lord of heav'n!

One with the Father known,

One with the Spirit through Him giv'n

From yonder glorious throne

To Thee be endless praise,

For Thou for us hast died;

Be Thou, oh Lord, through endless days

Adored and magnified!

      Afterwards

Isn't it nice? I like the last two lines of verse 3; it really is interesting.

God really has done a lot for us; He deserves to be crowned Lord of all.
