Lyrics to the hymn, He Lives

Mountains and some cars

Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write the lyrics to n hymns, and maybe a couple of other things.

Today is a hymn, as usual, and it was written in 1933 by Mr. Alfred Henry Ackley. What is it called?

If you paying any attention to the title of this blog post, you would know that it is the well known, well loved hymn, He Lives.

If you don't know how the tune goes, look up Alan Jackson on YouTube; that is my favorite version of this beautiful hymn.

See you in the afterwards!

The Lyrics

Verse 1

I serve a risen Savior, He's in the world today;

I know that He is living, whatever men may say.

I see His hand of mercy, I hear His voice of cheer,

And just the time I need Him, He's always near.

Chorus

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today;

He walks with me, and talks with me, along life's narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart;

You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart.

Verse 2

In all the world around me I see His loving care;

And though my heart grows weary, I never will despair.

I know that He is leading through all the stormy blast;

The day of His appearing will come at last.

Chorus

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today;

He walks with me, and talks with me, along life's narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart;

You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart.

Verse 3

Rejoice, rejoice, oh Christian, lift up your voice and sing

Eternal hallelujahs to Jesus Christ the King!

The hope of all who seek Him, the help of all who find

None other is so loving, so good, and kind.

Chorus

He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today;

He walks with me, and talks with me, along life's narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart;

You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart.

Afterwards
Well, how was that? I really like it.

And, yes, I know my outro is terrible. I mean, who's says, see you in the afterwards?

If you think of anything better, let me know down in the comments.

I send out new content every Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and the occasional Random Chatty Day. Check out my old posts while you wait.

Goodbye, and God bless.
