Lyrics to the hymn, Amazing Grace

         Introduction

Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I ramble.

A lot.

Like, if you follow me, you are well aware of this.

Today, we are looking at the hymn by John Newton, Amazing Grace.

It was written in 1772, and it is about how God's grace sets us free.

God's grace set me free once in my life; look, people, if you are going through a mental breakdown right now, I know how you feel.

If you ask God for help, He will set you free; maybe He'll send the perfect therapist, the right medication, or maybe He'll heal you completely.

I don't know what He will do.

If you don't know how the tune to the hymn goes, go find Carrie Underwood on YouTube; she did a great job.

If you aren't into her, I think Alan Jackson sang it.

Now, on with the show!

    The Lyrics

Verse 1

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now, I am found;

Was blind, but now, I see.

Verse 2

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear

The hour I first believed.

Verse 3

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,

I have already come;

'Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,

And grace will lead me home.

Verse 4

The Lord has promised good to me,

His word my hope secures;

He will my Shield and Portion be,

As long as life endures.

Verse 5

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,

And mortal life shall cease,

I shall possess, within the veil,

A life of joy and peace.

Verse 6

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,

The sun forbear to shine;

But God, Who called me here below,

Will be forever mine.

Verse 7

When we've been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We've no less days to sing God's praise,

Then when we've first begun.

    Afterwards

It was a lot longer than I thought it was, which I am a okay with.

If there is another verse that you know, and it got left out, let me down in the comments; do the same if you want me to cover a certain subject.

I update on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Random Chatty Days;

Goodbye, and God bless.
