Lyrics to the hymn, O Jesus, I Have Promised

A field, mountains, trees, and the blue sky Introduction Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have.  Cotton candy clouds over mountains The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, O Jesus, I Have Promised, by John E. Bode; he wrote it in 1869, and it is now published in 625 hymnals.  I first heard this hymn on Olive Tree Hymns; I'll leave some links to their channel and video down below. Cloudy evening Introduction Hello, and welcome to the Mother of Gooses blog, where I write about hymns, instruments, recipes, and animals; I hope that I can answer any questions that you might have. Clods over a mountain The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Peace, Perfect Peace, by Edward H. Bickersteth Jr. He wrote it in 1875, and in it he talks about how Jesus can give us peace and quiet in these crazy times. And boy, don't we need peace; the 2024 election is coming up, there is war after war, there is divorce, LGBTQ, abortion, and border crossings. And it seems like there will be no end to this nonsense. But, in the words of Allie Beth Stuckey, "Jesus will win. It may seem like evil is winning, but God's eternal plan of redemption is always going off without a hitch." Amen. A mountain, sky, clouds, and trees The Subject At Hand Today, we are looking at the lyrics to the hymn, Jesus, Savior Pilot Me, by Edward Hopper in 1871; it is a very pretty hymn, and I like how Mr Hopper used the sea to talk about life.  But I'm getting ahead of myself; if you don't know how the tune goes, I'll leave some links down below.
