Random Chatty Day: Pitbulls and ramblings

Hello, hello, hello, my friends. And welcome to another...

Random Chatty Day!!!

Today, we are talking about the very common type of dog, the Pitbull.

The pitbull isn't a single dog breed, it is a group of breeds that fall under the... What do you call it? Category? Name? Family? Classification? Considered?

Classification. That's the word.

The dogs that are classified as pitbulls are the:

American Pitbull Terrier

American Bully Dog

American Staffordshire Terrier

Fallen trees

American Bulldog

Staffordshire Bull Terrier

Why are these dogs called pitbulls?

Because they were first bred to bait bears and bulls in an arena, hence, 'pit'.

The pitbull, once bull-baiting was made illegal, was bred for the next "best" thing: dog fighting*.

People would breed the dogs for aggressiveness, size, and strength. Not the best qualities in a family dog.

The pitbull has a very, very strong bite, and DOES NOT let go readily, which is terrifying.

These dogs are huge, with stocky bodies, square jaws, (which, again, are very strong), and their top speed is 25 to 30 miles per hour.

Wowzee.

I don't want that thing chasing me.

Are pitbulls good family dogs? Some may be asking.

Uhh... Hmmm... Well... I don't think so.

Now this is not fully the dog's fault. It is partially our fault; we bred them to be big, mean, and aggressive. We wanted entertainment by watching other animals rip each other to pieces. This isn't the dogs fault.

Still... While it is 90% of the pitbull problem is ours to own, the dogs get 10% of the blame; because while we purposely bred the dogs to be what they are, the dog should try to restrain itself from RIPPING OFF SOMEBODY'S FACE!

Once, a little girl was walking with her mother, when they saw a homeless woman with her dog.

We'll call the girl Lucy.

Lucy walked up to this woman to give her a dollar; apparently, to the dog, this was a crime, as the dog jumped up, grabbed this 7 year old's face, and wouldn't let go.

Lucy's mom and the dog's owner both tried to get the dog to let go, and eventually managed.

Lucy had to go to the hospital, but she survived.

This dog was a pitbull.

You may argue that the dog was just doing its job, but... That little girl didn't deserve that.

A little girl, by the way; it would be more be more understandable if it was a adult, but it wasn't an adult, it was a little child.

That dog was a bad example of the pitbull breed.

Excuse me, not breed; classification.

Unfortunately, the pitbull is one of the most common types of dogs in the world; you see them EVERYWHERE.

They are great guard dogs, but most people who get them are irresponsible, and don't take the time to train them properly.

I'm not condemning the pitbull; if we carefully choose what dogs we breed, and put time onto properly training them, there is hope.

The pitbull dogs could become some of the best dogs in the world, alongside the German Shepherds and Beagles.

Well, what do you think? How do you feel about the pitbull dog? Let me know down in the comments.

Also, if there was something I left out, or if you want me to discuss a particular subject, let me know in the comments; I want to be informative.

And remember: I update on Sunday, Mondays, Wednesdays, and of course, on Random Chatty Days!

Goodbye, God bless, and keep an eye on your neighbor's dog.
